Army donates to educational institutions in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, Jan 6, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Army’s Longadu Zone on Tuesday provided financial assistance to two educational institutions in Longadu upazila of the district as part of its ongoing social welfare activities.

The donation was handed over around 11:00 am by Major Shahinul Al Shakib, PSC, Deputy Commander of the Longadu Zone. The monthly financial assistance was given to Senamoitri Vidyaniketan School and Dakshin Rahmatpur Baitul Quran Madrasa.

Assistant Teacher Md Zahidur Islam received the donation on behalf of Senamoitri Vidyaniketan School, while Md Rasheduzzaman, Secretary of Dakshin Rahmatpur Baitul Quran Madrasa, accepted the assistance for the madrasa.

Speaking on the occasion, Major Shahinul Al Shakib said that alongside maintaining law and order in the hilly areas, the army has been actively involved in social welfare initiatives, adding that such activities will continue in the future.
