Bakery shop fined Tk 40,000 in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Jan 6, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court in a drive has fined a bakery Taka 40,000 for manufacturing and selling white bread products without obtaining BSTI Certification Marks (CM) license and using its logo.

The Rangpur Divisional Office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Rangpur District Administration jointly conducted the drive today, said a press release. 

Executive Magistrate of Rangpur Md Morsalin led the mobile court.

During the drive, the court fined Messer's Asif Bakery at the Sajapur area of Rangpur Taka 40,000 for the reason.

The BSTI prosecutors are Field Officers (Certification Marks) Marufa Begum and Inspector (Metrology) Tadmira Sharmin. 

Such drives will continue in the public interest, the release added.
