KMP commissioner for collective responsibility to ensure upcoming elections

KHULNA, Jan 6, 2026 (BSS) - Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan stressed the need for collective responsibility to ensure that the upcoming national parliamentary election is held in a free, fair, impartial and peaceful manner.

He made the remarks while inaugurating a training workshop as the chief guest, organized for the 26th batch, held at the Boyra police Lines today, aimed at enhancing the skills and capacity of police personnel to ensure the smooth conduct of election duties.

The KMP chief said police members must remain vigilant so that voters can move freely to polling centres and cast their votes without fear or hindrance.

He also emphasised preventing any form of irregularities, including fake voting, intimidation of voters, or other untoward incidents during the election process. 

With sincere efforts and cooperation from all concerned, he expressed optimism that Bangladesh Police would be able to present the nation with a credible and peaceful election.

Among others, Deputy Police Commissioner M. M. Shakiluzzaman, recently promoted to the rank of Additional DIG, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Shamima Akter Sumi, Assistant Police Commissioner Sheikh Md. Abdur Razzak, along with the trainees participating in the workshop, were present.

The training is part of ongoing preparations to strengthen professionalism and operational readiness of police personnel ahead of the forthcoming national election.
