RANGPUR, Jan 6, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested a fugitive convict serving ten years and three month in a Thakurgaon drug case from the Baraipara area under Kaliakoir police station of Gazipur district on Monday.

The arrested convict is Md Badal, 32, son of Md Jahrul Islam of village Baraibari under Sadar police station of Kurigram district, said a press release here this evening.

Earlier, he was sentenced to ten years and three months in prison in drug case No. 23 filed against him at Ranisankail police station in Thakurgaon district on April 27, 2019.

On a tip off, a joint team of the RAB-13 from Rangpur and RAB-1 from Gazipur in a drive arrested fugitive accused Md Badal from the the Baraipara area under Kaliakoir police station of Gazipur district at 12:15 pm on Monday.

The accused has been handed over to Ranisankail police station of Thakurgaon for further legal action.
