RCC seeks close-coordination with line departments to boost civic services

RAJSHAHI, Jan 6, 2026 (BSS)- Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has sought close-coordination with all the internal line departments for boosting civic services.

This was revealed in a coordination meeting with heads of the internal departments held today at RCC conference hall with Commissioner of Rajshahi division and RCC Administration Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid in the chair.

Various issues, including on-going and proposed projects, traffic jam mitigation, civic security and environment development, were discussed in the meeting
 
Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Dr Zillur Rahman, Additional Chief Engineer of Department of Roads and Highway Dr Abdullah Al Mamun, Chairman of Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) Tuhinur Alam, Managing Director of Rajshahi WASA Rezaul Alam Sarker and Principal of Rajshahi Medical College Professor Khandaker Faisal Alam were present at the meeting.

Dr Bazlur Rashid called for formulating a master plan coordinating RCC and the development associate institutions for sustainable developments.

Terming the city corporation as a service-oriented institution, he said the RCC has been providing civic services side by side with extending cooperation to other institutions.

He stressed the need for restriction on the plying of illegal vehicles and promoting speed control systems for mitigating traffic jams.

In his remarks, RMP Commissioner Dr Zillur Rahman underscored the need for bringing the entire city under close circuit cameras to ensure security to all.

RDA Chairman Tuhinur Alam said the relocation process of Dhaka Bus Terminal to Nawdapara terminal is progressing and it is expected to complete by next two months and then the existing traffic jam will be reduced to a greater extent.
