Drug-peddler held with heroin in Chapainawabganj

RAJSHAHI, Jan 17, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an alleged drug peddler with 3.10 kilograms of heroin in a remote area in Chapainawabganj last night.
 
The arrestee was identified as Ebran Ali, 55, son of Mahatab Uddin of Malbagdanga village under Sadar Upazila in Chapainawabganj district, said a RAB press release here this afternoon.
 
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in his residence around 1:30am, arrested the man, and recovered the huge contraband item from their possession.
 
RAB sources said the arrestee had been involved in drug trading and trafficking for a long time.
 
A case was filed with Sadar Police Station in this connection and the arrested person along with the seized goods was handed over to police today.
