MANIKGANJ, March 8, 2026 (BSS) - Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed this morning after remaining suspended for about two hours due to dense fog.

BIWTC Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager (DGM) Abdus Salam said ferry movement on the route resumed around 9:00 am after visibility improved following a two-hour disruption caused by thick fog.

During the suspension, two ferries - Language Martyred Shaheed Barkat and Faridpur - remained stranded at Paturia Ghat. Five ferries - Shah Keramat Ali, Shah Mokhdum, Hasna Hena, Golam Maula and Bonolota - were stuck at Daulatdia Ghat.

Besides, two ferries - Shah Paran and Bir Shreshtha Jahangir - were anchored in the middle of the Padma River with vehicles and passengers on board.

Meanwhile, ferry movement on the Aricha-Kazirhat route also resumed after a two-hour suspension due to the same reason. All ferries are now operating normally with full loads of vehicles and passengers.
