Jubo Dal leader killed in road accident in Mirsarai

CHATTOGRAM, March 12, 2026 (BSS)- Upazila Jubo Dal convener Md Kamal Uddin, 42, was killed in a road accident in Mirsarai upazila this afternoon.

The deceased was the son of late Mujibul Haque of Paschim Polmogra village under Khaiyachhara union of the upazila.

The accident occurred around 2:30 pm in front of the Nippon Ispat factory on the Baratakia-National Economic Zone road.

According to police and eyewitnesses, Kamal Uddin was driving his private car for business purposes and was parking in front of the factory on his way to 
the economic zone when a speeding drum truck hit the front of the vehicle.

The impact left the car badly damaged, trapping Kamal inside the wreckage. Members of the Fire Service and police rescued him and took him to a local 
hospital in the upazila sadar for primary treatment.

He was later shifted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Zorarganj Police Station Kazi Nazmul Haque said police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident.

Police detained the truck driver and handed him over to the authorities for legal action, the OC added.
