SHERPUR, March 24, 2026 (BSS) - District administration in a drive has fined a local petrol pump owner Taka 25,000 for alleged irregularities in fuel oil storage.
 
During the drive, Nur Islam Haji, 60, proprietor of Haji Petrol Pump in Sherpur Sadar, was fined after authorities found inconsistencies in fuel storage practices.
 
The drive was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) and Executive Magistrate Md. Shakil Ahmed. The drive took place from Monday evening until late at night, covering Sherpur Sadar, Nakla and Nalitabari upazilas.
 
Deputy Commissioner Md. Tarafdar Mahmudur Rahman said that the district administration remains committed to ensuring a smooth supply of fuel oil and maintaining market stability in the district.
