800 liters of petrol seized in Satkhira, owner fined Tk 10,000

SATKHIRA, March 31, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court operation in Ashasuni upazila 
of the district seized 800 liters of petrol from a local grocery shop on 
Tuesday afternoon and fined the shop owner Taka 10,000 in this regard.

The petrol, stored in four barrels, was confiscated from a shop at Naktara-
Kalibari Bazar of Sriula Union. The shop owner, Marufa Khatun, wife of 
Hafizur Rahman of Bakchara village, was fined for illegal storage and selling 
of fuel at higher prices.

The mobile court was led by Satkhira District Administration Executive 
Magistrates Md. Saiful Islam and Md. Tauhidul Hasan with members of law 
enforcement agencies present during the raid.

Md. Saiful Islam said the action was taken following a tip-off about the 
illegal storage and overpricing of petrol at the shop.
