KHULNA, April 17, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) arrested an accused in an attempted murder case from Khulna city on Thursday night.

The arrestee was identified as Kayum, 28, son of Anowar Mistri, from the Rayermohol Christianpara area under Arongghata Police Station in the district.

A team of RAB-6 CPC Special Company conducted a drive around 8:35 pm at Mostafar Mor under Harintana Police Station of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), acting on a tip-off, and apprehended him in front of a food hotel owned by Abdul Aziz.

RAB sources said Kayum is the second accused named in a case filed over the attempted murder of a youth named Faim, who was shot in the Rayermohol area on November 9, 2025.

Kayum is a member of a local criminal group known as "B Company" and had allegedly established dominance in the area by intimidating people with firearm, according to RAB.

The arrested accused was handed over to Arongghata Police Station for further legal action.
