21 passengers injured in Ctg bus collusion

CHATTOGRAM, April 24, 2026 (BSS) - Twenty one passengers were injured in a head-on collision between two passenger buses at Patiya Bypass on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway today. 

Two of them are in critical condition and have been admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH). The accident occurred this morning at the Indrapul Roundabout area of Patiya Bypass on the highway.
 
A tourist bus named Himachal Paribahan from Noakhali was heading to Cox's Bazar when it collided head-on with another bus named Evergreen Paribahan traveling from Cox's Bazar to Chattogram. 

Highway police rescued the passengers and took them to the Patiya Health Complex. 

Dr. Trishna Sarkar from the Patiya Upazila Health Complex's emergency department said 21 injured individuals were brought to the hospital. Two of them, Sumon (16) and Salauddin (25) from Cumilla, were sent to CMCH for advanced treatment, while the others received primary care.
 
OC Harunur Rashid from the Patiya Crossing Highway Police Station stated that upon receiving the information, the bus passengers were rescued and taken to Patiya Health Complex. The two buses involved in the accident have been impounded by the police.
