PATUAKHALI, June 1, 2026 (BSS) - A youth was killed and three others were injured in a motorcycle accident while visiting Kuakata, the popular tourist destination in Patuakhali district, this morning.
 
The deceased was identified as Jisan, 17, son of Amir Hossain of Palang Police Station area in Shariatpur district.
 
According to police and local sources, Jisan, along with his friends Rabbi and Abir, had travelled to Kuakata from Shariatpur. While passing through the Majhibari area, the motorcycle driver reportedly lost control while attempting to avoid a pedestrian who was crossing the road around 10:30am. 
 
The motorcycle then crashed into a roadside tree, leaving all four individuals seriously injured.
 
Local residents rushed to the scene and rescued the victims and sent them to Kuakata Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Jisan dead.
 
Mohipur Police Station Investigation Officer (OC Investigation) Animesh Hawlader confirmed the matter and said the body had been recovered and brought to the police station.
“The process of taking necessary legal action in connection with the incident is underway,” he added.
