KHULNA, June 1, 2026 (BSS) – Amir Ejaz Khan, ruling party MP for Khulna-1, today said unwavering patriotism is essential to uphold the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

“Only those who demonstrate the highest level of sacrifice and dedication to the country, its people and the party can emerge from Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and establish themselves in BNP politics,” he said, adding that today’s students would lead Bangladesh in the future.

He made the remarks while speaking at a voluntary blood donation programme as the chief guest at the BNP party office on K.D. Ghosh Road in the city.

The programme was organised by Khulna District Chhatra Dal as part of a week-long programme marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of BNP founder and former President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam.

Amir Ejaz Khan said at least 144 Chhatra Dal activists embraced martyrdom during the July Mass Uprising of 2024, including Wasim Akram of Chattogram, Mehedi Hasan Rabbi of Magura and Arifur Rahman Russell of Dhaka.

“Their sacrifices proved that Chhatra Dal has played an unparalleled role in the struggle for establishing democracy in Bangladesh,” he said.

He noted that the responsibilities of Chhatra Dal were not yet over and urged its leaders and activists at all levels to work in a united manner to restore a proper academic environment in educational institutions.

“Students must remain united alongside general students on every campus,” he added.

The lawmaker also called upon party activists to strengthen the leadership of BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in order to build the Bangladesh envisioned by Ziaur Rahman.
Acting Convener of Khulna District Chhatra Dal Md Abu Jafar chaired the event.

Among others, Khulna District BNP member KM Ashraful Alam Nannu, former Member Secretary of Dakop Upazila BNP Abdul Mannan Khan, former Convener of Chalna Municipality BNP Sheikh Mozaffar Hossain, and Joint Conveners of District Chhatra Dal Md Maqsud Alam, Imtiaz Ali Sujon, Kazi Riazul Islam Babu and Mostak Ahmed were present.
