One dies of electrocution in Mollahat

BAGERHAT, June 15, 2026 (BSS) - An employee of a fish feed factory died after being electrocuted in Mollahat upazila of Bagerhat this morning.

The deceased, Mainul Islam Mahin, 32, was an employee of Bismillah Fish Feed Factory located beside the highway in the Nona Danga area of Mollahat upazila.

Police and locals said Mahin suffered an electric shock while operating a water pump at the factory as part of his regular work. He was immediately rescued by colleagues and taken to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on-duty declared him dead.

The deceased was the son of Rafiqul Islam of Andharmanik village in Kachua upazila of the district. He lived inside the factory premises with his wife and two children.

Sub-Inspector Manjir of Mollahat Police Station said Mahin was electrocuted while operating an electric motor used for water supply at the factory.

An unnatural death (UD) case has been filed at Mollahat Police Station.
