Farmer electrocuted in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, June 16, 2026 (BSS) - A farmer was electrocuted in Bakshiganj Upazila of the district this afternoon.

The victim was identified as Rupan Miah, 45, son of Hazrat Ali, of Suryanagar village under Bakshiganj Upazila of the district.

Police said Rupan Miah came into contact with a live electric wire while he was working in his paddy field.

He was rushed to Bakshiganj Health Complex, where the attending doctor declared him dead, said Officer-in-Charge of Bakshiganj Police Station Md Makbul Hossain.
