Festival of youth winter sports competition held in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS) - Festival of Youth winter sports competition of National School, Madrasa and Technical Education concluded at Gor-e-Shaheed Bara Maidan on Thursday.

Dinajpur additional deputy commissioner Fateha Tuj Zohra distributed the prizes in the closing ceremony, organized by upazila school, Madrasa and Technical Education Sports Association of Dinajpur district.

While distributing the awards among the winners, she said that the youth of the country have been successful by playing an effective role in fulfilling the aspirations of the people for a long time. 

She said: "Sports keep the body and mid sound so the youth should focus on sports. If they can be made worthy citizens of the country through sports, they will become the wealth of the country. Drugs are a big problem in our country. If we involve our youth in sports and cultural activities, they will never be misguided."

Dinajpur Government Girls High School head mistress Md. Roshan Ara Chobi conducted the prize distribution ceremony.

Sadar upazila secondary education officer Abul Kalam Azad, Upazila academic supervisor Nirmal Kumar Roy, headmaster Joynal Abedin and Nezamul Islam spoke as special guests on the occasion, presided by Dinajpur district secondary education officer Md Mirazul Islam.

Md. Obaidur Rahman, Majedur Rahman, Biblab, Md. Manjur-ul-Alam Montu, Md. Anwarul Islam, Md Aktarul Islam Ranga conducted the sports competition.

Students of Dinajpur sadar upazila school, college and madrasa participated in athletic, hockey, cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, cycling competition. 

Champion, runner-up trophies were also distributed among the winners of the competition.
