RAJSHAHI, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS)- A five-day Rajshahi divisional inter-college football tournament began at Freedom Fighters Memorial Stadium here today.
Divisional Administration and District Sports Office jointly organized the tournament initiated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports with the theme 'Eso Dessh Bodlai, Prithibi Bodlai' to build a new Bangladesh.
Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi division Akter Jameel opened the tournament as chief guest, while District Sports Officer Goutam Kumar Sarker and Principal of Rajshahi Education Board Government School and College Prof Moazzem Hossain were present as special guests.
In the tournament, 16 teams from eight districts in the division are taking part.
In his remarks, Akter Jameel said more talented football players are expected to come out from the tournament and they will play in national teams.
He added that the present government has been working to make the country's sports sector successful.
