Junior U-19 badminton tournament begins

DHAKA, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS)- Junior U-19 boys' and girls' badminton tournament, on occasion of Festival of Youth 2025, began at shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in the capital on Monday with a theme of "Let's change the country, change the world".

On the first day of the two-day meet, Mehedi Hasan Shuvo beat Afzan Hamja Mahmud 21-18, 21-06, Raisul Islam defeated Riju Ahmed 21-6, 21-6, Fuad Hasan Fardil outplayed Wahid Miraj 21-7, 21-9, KM Fardin Soum outclassed Jimteham Hossain 21-12, 13-21 and 17-21, Meftahul Jannat beat Ruhanul Islam 21-9, 21-16, Safakat Rahman Apurbo beat Rezuan Ahmed 21-11, 21-10, Mahid Khan defeated Md Mishad 21-9, 21-13 and 21-19 and Abdullah Al Siyam beat Ashikur Rahman Arnab 21-17, 21-12 in the boys's singles event.

While in the girls' singles event, Mathena Madhurjya Biswas beat Isman Ara 21-10, 21-08, Afifa Khan Arin outplayed Amina Hasan Khushbu, 21-3, 21-6, SK Pritha beat Margarate Mugdho Biswas 221-7, 21-12 and Jarin Oqbal Mohona beat Rihoma Ferdous 21-6, 21-4 when the last report came inhand.
