Diving, water polo competition begins tomorrow

DHAKA, Feb 11, 2025 (BSS)- The diving and water polo 
competition, on occasion of Festival of Youth 2025, begins 
tomorrow (Wednesday) at national swimming complex in the 
city’s Mirpur area. 

Youth and Sports Ministry’s Additional Secretary Muhammad 
Hiruzzaman NDC is expected to inaugurate the two—day meet as 
the chief guest.

Organised by Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF), the 
festival will be a significant milestone in building a 
sustainable future and creating a hunger-free, pollution-free, 
unemployment-free and discrimination-free Bangladesh by 
successfully implementing the creativity and enthusiasm of the 
youth. The main theme of the festival of youth is “Let’s 
change the country, change the world.”

Nearly 300 participants including players of twenty three 
teams, team officials, meet officials and officials from 
services team, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan, district 
sports associations and swimming clubs will participate in the 
competition, sponsored by Mia Bhai Foundation.

Rear Admiral S M Abul Kalam Azad, commander, Dhaka Naval 
region, is expected to be present in the closing ceremony as 
chief guest on Thursday (Feb 13) and distribute the prizes.  

Mia Bhai Foundation chairman and BSF vice-president Mizanur 
Rahman will be present in the closing ceremony as special 
guest.
