
SANGSAD BHABAN, April 16, 2026 (BSS)- Chief Whip Nurul Islam today requested the Deputy Speaker to maintain an order in giving floor to members to raise their point under Section 71.
The Chief Whip made this request while a treasury bench lawmaker Md Showkatul Islam of Moulvibazar-2 raised a question of breaching serial in placing notice under section 71.
Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal was in the chair at that time.
“All lawmakers are private members except the ministers and I know when they submit their notices immediately before the session. So, I humbly request you to maintain serial while giving floor to members”, Chief Whip said.
All lawmaker want their notices come first with an objective to highlight the matter of their area. So it’s important to keep an order in giving the notices on floor.
In response to the request, the Deputy Speaker assured the lawmakers to keep an order in presenting their notice.
A total of 72 urgent public important notices under section 71 of the rules of procedure were received today by the parliament and thirteen out of them were discussed by the lawmakers in first 30 minutes in the House.
