Govt working to make land management system people-friendly: Minister

SANGSAD BHABAN, April 22, 2026 (BSS) - Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu today said the government has taken initiatives to make land services people-friendly and hassle-free.

The minister made the remarks while giving a brief statement after raising an urgent important notice by treasury bench lawmaker Md Aynal Haque of Sirajganj-3 under section 71 of the rules of the procedure at the Jatiya Sangsad here.

Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram presided over the session.

The minister expressed hope that the government will ensure a transparent land management system for the people across the country.

To make the land service peoples-friendly, the minister said the land ministry has introduced cent percent digital mutation, online land development tax, attendance of the officials, surprise visit, departmental action, hotline, land service assistance center, digital land record, citizen service center, E-porcha, land app and allegation prevention management system.

To curb the intervention of the brokers, the land minister said the government has made the e-mutation mandatory. Online application has been made mandatory for the stakeholders.

In every stage of the online application like issuing of notice, approval of hearing are being informed to the subscribers with SMS so that none can take illegal opportunity between the government and the subscribers, said the minister.

The land ministry has introduced online land development tax aiming to stop the cash money transaction in the land offices, he said, adding that the people can pay their land development tax through the Bkash, Nagad, rocket and other online banking system by using their NID.
