NARAYANGANJ, June 17, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced a man to life 
term imprisonment for killing his wife in Siddhirganj of the district in 
2023.

Judge of Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-3 Md. Aminul Haque 
pronounced the verdict this afternoon in presence of the convict.

The court also fined convict Manik Patwary, 57, Taka 10,000, in default, to 
suffer six months more in jail, said Court Police Inspector Md. Qayum Khan.

According to prosecution, convict Manik killed his wife Anwara Begum over a 
family feud in Jalkuri Paschimpara area of Siddhirganj on January 18, 2023.

Later, the deceased's daughter Swarnali filed a case with concerned police 
station.

The judge after examining 10 witnesses and evidence found the convict guilty 
and handed down the punishment, said additional public prosecutor Advocate 
Nazrul Islam Masum.
