DHAKA, Mar 24, 2026 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed Fahim Al Hasan on a two-day remand in connection with the murder of his wife, Sharmin Jahan, a student of Jahangirnagar University (JU).

Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Mahfuzur Rahman passed the order after a hearing.

Sharmin Jahan, a student of the 51st batch of the Department of Public Administration at JU, was found dead with visible injuries at a residence in the Islamnagar area, adjacent to the campus, around noon on March 15.

She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Following the incident, Sharmin’s uncle, Monirul Islam, filed a murder case with Ashulia Police Station on the same day. The police later arrested Fahim on the night of March 15 in connection with the case.
