PM to visit Chandpur tomorrow

DHAKA, May 15, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will go to Chandpur on a daylong tour tomorrow to join a series of programmes, including inauguration of canal re-excavation, Family Card distribution and party meeting. 

According to the tour schedule shared by the Prime Minister's Press Wing today, the premier will leave his residence in the city for Chandpur by road at 8:30am tomorrow.

On his way to Chandpur, Tarique Rahman, also ruling BNP chairman, will address a street rally at Lakshmipur Bazar ground in Barura upazila of Comilla district at 11:30 am.

He is scheduled to inaugurate the Khordda Canal re-excavation work in Waruk Bazar area of Tamta Dakshin Union in Shahrasti Upazila of Chandpur at 12:30 pm.

At 1:45 pm, he will inaugurate the Bishwa Canal re-excavation work adjacent to Ghosh's Hat in Kumardugi village of Shah Mahmudpur Union of Chandpur Sadar Upazila.

After taking a short break at Chandpur Circuit House, the premier is scheduled to join a Family Card distribution ceremony at Chandpur Government College ground at 3:30 pm.

Later, Tarique Rahman will join an organizational meeting of the Chandpur district BNP at Chandpur Club at 5 pm. He is scheduled to leave Chandpur for Dhaka by road at 6:30 pm.

This will be his first visit to Chandpur after assuming office as Prime Minister.
