Mild heatwave sweeps over some districts: Met office

DHAKA, Mar 28, 2025 (B SS) - A mild heatwave is sweeping over Khulna Division and the districts of Dhaka, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Lakshmipur and Feni. This condition may continue and spread, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a release today. 

It forecasted weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

Day temperatures may rise slightly, while night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the Met office predicted this morning. 

A trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas and a seasonal low lies over the South Bay. 

The Met office recorded yesterday's maximum temperature as 37.6 degrees Celsius at Jashore in Khulna Division, while today's minimum temperature recorded as 19.5 degrees Celsius at Rangamati in Chattogram division.  

Today's sunset in Dhaka will be at 06:13 pm, and tomorrow's sunrise at 05:53 am, the BMD release added.
