Tk 96.67 crore distributed to July martyr families, injured

DHAKA, March 28, 2025 (BSS)- The July Shaheed Smriti Foundation has distributed Tk 96.67 crore to the families of martyrs and injured victims of the 2024 July uprising.

Families of at least 745 martyrs received a total of Tk 37.25 crore while 5,596 injured victims got Tk 59.41 crore so far, CEO of the foundation Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho said today at a press conference at its office in the capital.

Snigdho said the foundation has provided financial assistance to families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives and those who were injured during the student-led mass uprising.

He said they reached many private companies for employments of injured July uprising victims.

Family members of July martyrs and injured victims will be given jobs in various private organizations or companies as per their qualifications, he added.

Snigdho said the foundation received donation from the government and other sources, totaling Tk 110 crores.

Foundation's finance secretary Mohammad Ahsan Habib Chowdhury, executive member Sabrina Afroz Sebanti and media executive Md. Zahid Hossain, among others, were present at the press conference.
