Govt announces April 13 holiday in hill districts on Chaitra Sankranti

DHAKA, March 28, 2025 (BSS) - The government has announced a general holiday on April 13 in the hill districts of Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban to mark Chaitra Sankranti, the traditional festival bidding farewell to the Bengali year.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification regarding the holiday on Thursday.

Additionally, an optional holiday has been declared for individuals observing Chaitra Sankranti in other districts across the country.
