Metrorail resumes service today after Eid-day break

DHAKA, April 1, 2025 (BSS) - Capital’s most popular public transport ‘Metrorail ’resumed operation today, after one-day official closure on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals of the Muslims.

“Today’s first trip resumed from the Metrorail’s  Uttara North Station for Motijheel at 7:10 am . . . while the first train from Motijheel left for Uttara North Station at 7:30 am,” a spokesman of the  Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the Metrorail operator, told BSS.

Metrorail services remained closed on Monday on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

Earlier, the DMTCL authority announced that the Metrorail services will be closed only on the Eid day.

However, the Metrorail service would continue as usual from the next morning (today), the DMTCL added.
