CHATTOGRAM (South), April 02, 2025 (BSS) - At least nine people were killed and five others injured when a bus collided head on with a microbu at Lohagara upazila on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway today.

Police said the dead persons include three women and two girl children.

Police and witnesses said the fatal accident occurred in front of the Chunati Forest Range Office at Jangalia area at about 7:00 am today.

Dohazari Highway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Manjur Hossain told BSS that the passenger bus of Relax Paribahan was bound to Chattogram while the microbus was headway to Cox’s bazaar. 

Nine people, including a girl and a child died on the spot.

The injured persons are undergoing treatment at a local hospital. 

Police recovered the mobile phone of the bus driver and trying to know about his identity.

Identities of the deceased and injured persons could not be known immediately.
