Khaleda Zia roams around London Park with her son

DHAKA, April 2, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia was roaming around in London Park with her family members on Tuesday as part of celebrating the Holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest religious Festival of Muslims.

Tarique Rahman, BNP Acting Chairman and the eldest son of Khaleda Zia, took the former Premier in the London park on wheelchair when her other family members accompanied her, BNP Media Cell Member Shairul Kabir Khan told BSS here today.

A video of Khaleda Zia roaming in the park on wheelchair went viral on social media. In the video, it is seen that Khaleda Zia was being wheeled by her Personal Assistant Md. Masudur Rahman in the park.

Tarique Rahman is walking with his family next to her. Her (Khaleda Zia’s) Personal Physician and BNP National Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain was also with her.

Khaleda Zia, who went to London for treatment purpose is now staying at her eldest son Tarique Rahman's residence.

On January 7, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia reached London for treatment in a royal air ambulance sent by Sheikh Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar. She received treatment at 'The London Clinic' for 17 days under the supervision of Professor John Patrick Kennedy.

After that, as decided by the medical board formed for her at the London Clinic, Khaleda Zia was taken to her son Tarique Rahman's house under the supervision of Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross.
