DHAKA, April 09, 2025 (BSS)- Primary and Mass Education Adviser Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar today said morality is an important dimension in the education sector.
“Morality is an important dimension in our education. It needs to be a part of the teachings. Morality means a sense of responsibility towards those around us, a sense of duty and compassion for the environment. These need to be instilled in children at a young age,” he said.
The adviser said this while addressing the inaugural function of ‘Moral Education Development Programme’ organized by Bangladesh Students Welfare Trust at International Mother Language Institute here.
He said the concept of morality should be introduced in school curriculums and teachers’ should promote it by serving as role models. Children can adapt to the concept of morality by practicing it in their lives, he said.
Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education director Professor Dr Shafiul Azam, Gana Odhikar spokesperson Md Faruque Hasan, Teachers Oikkyo Jote leader Jakir Hossain, Bangladesh Students Welfare Trust founder member Syed Habibur Rahman and its managing director Principal Nure Alam Talukder, among others, addressed it with trust vice chairman Professor Dr Abdul Latif Masum in the chair.
