1,173 absent on first day of SSC exam under Chattogram board

CHATTOGRAM, April 10, 2025 (BSS) - The first day of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examination in five districts under the Chattogram Education Board (CEB) was held here peacefully today.

CEB Control Room sources said a total of 1,173 students were absent in the Bangla first paper examination.

A total of 123,271 out of 124,444 enrolled examinees from 1,125 high schools have appeared in the examination at 219 centres.

However, there is no report of expulsion of examinees under CEB centres for adopting unfair means or violation of discipline on the first day of the biggest public exam at the secondary level. 

Controller of examination of CEB Prof. Dr Parvej Sazzad Chowdhury told BSS that the examination was held peacefully, and 72 vigilance teams, including 12 special ones, have been deployed in the exam centres to complete the exam in a fair and peaceful manner.

Authorities have taken adequate security measures to maintain conducive atmosphere in and around the exam centres.

The jurisdiction of the board covers Chattogram metropolitan city and district, as well as Cox's Bazar, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban districts.
