Two jailed for yaba trading in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, April 24, 25 (BSS) - A Chattogram court sentenced life-term imprisonment to a truck driver and its helper for trading drug in 2021.

The court of Chattogram 4th Additional District and Sessions Judge Serajum Munira awarded truck driver Sayed Nur, 32, and its helper Imran Sadak, 29, to life-term imprisonment for trading 29,500 Yaba pills.

The court also awarded Sayed Nur Tk 20, 000 as fine, in default; he will have to suffer more six month imprisonment and helper Imran Tk 10, 000 as fine, in default; he will also have to suffer more three month imprisonment. 

According to the prosecution, a team of RAB-7 arrested Syed Noor and Imran with 29,500 yaba pills from a truck at south Shikalbahar under Karnaphuli Police Station in the morning of May 26, 2021.

Deputy Assistant Director of RAB-7, Ahmed Ullah, filed a case with Karnaphuli Thana against them on that day.

Police submitted the charge sheet before the court on August 25, in 2021 against two persons, while the court framed charges on April 22, 2025.
