BARGUNA, June 21, 2025 (BSS) - Three of a family were killed and three others 
injured in a tragic road accident in Keorabunia area in Sadar upazila of the 
district this noon.

The deceased were Moshaddeka Begum, 24, wife of Zahidul Islam, her mother-in-
law Khaleda Begum, 50, residents of Baloibunia village under Kalapara upazila 
in Patuakhali district and her father Moulvi Azizul Haque, 65, of Paschim 
Sonakhali village under Amtoli upazila of the district. 

The accident took place on the Amtoli-Patuakhali highway when a bus of "Ekra 
Paribahan" hit an easy bike from the opposite direction, leaving two easy 
bike passengers-- Khaleda and Azizul-- dead on the spot and injuring four 
others, said Md. Ariful Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Amtali Police 
Station.

The injured were taken to Patuakhali Medical College and Hospital where 
Moshaddeka succumbed to her injuries and other two are in critical condition. 

Six people of a family were going to Patuakhali for treatment of their 
newborn baby.     

Injured Zahidul Islam said, "We were going to Patuakhali to see a doctor with 
my newborn baby girl, my wife, father-in-law, mother, and uncle."

Police detained the vehicle but its driver and helper managed to flee the 
scene, the OC added.
