RAB arrests 3 fugitive criminals in separate drives

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 20, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three fugitives wanted in separate murder, gang rape and drug cases during overnight drives in Chattogram, Feni and Netrokona districts.

Senior Assistant Director of RAB-7 ARM Mozzaffar Hossain confirmed the arrests today.

Acting on a tip-off, a RAB-7 team raided Kajirhat Bazar under Bhujpur thana and detained Obaidul Haque, 32, who had been on the run in multiple drug-related cases.

In a separate drive, RAB-7 in coordination with RAB-14 arrested Md. Hridoy alias Tabiz, 27, the prime suspect in gang rape cases, from the Satpai area of Netrokona thana.

Meanwhile, Nurul Afser, 40, wanted in a murder case, was picked up from Daulatpur union of Fazilpur area along the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway.

The detainees were later handed over to the respective police stations for legal proceedings, RAB said.
