DHAKA, Aug 20, 2025 (BSS)- Six second round matches of Ruchi 36th National Women's Handball competition were held at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the capital today (Wednesday).

On the day, Naogaon District Sports Association (DSA) beat Narail DSA by 29-11 goals after leading the first half by 14-5 goals, Panchagarh DSA defeated Jahangirnagar University by 31-11 goals after dominating the first half by 16-7 goals, Jessore DSA outplayed Gopalganj DSA by 31-9 goals after leading the first half by 15-4 goals, Jamalpur DSA outclassed Narail DSA by 38-9 goals after dominating the first half by 19-3 goals, Naogaon DSA beat Jahangirnagar University by 23-15 goals after dominating the first half by 10-9 goals and Dhaka DSA thrashed Bogra DSA by 54-2 goals after leading the first half by 24-1 goals.

A total of nine teams, split into two groups, are taking part in the second round.

The second phase's teams are Jamalpur, Naogaon, Jahangirnagar University, Panchagarh, Narail, Jessore, Dhaka, Bogra and Gopalganj DSAs.

After the second round, the top four teams from first and second round will play semi-finals on August 24. The final of the competition is slated for August 25.

Earlier, Bangladesh Ansar and Bangladesh Police reached semifinal as group top.
