Bidhan for improving quality of primary education

LAKSHMIPUR, May 4, 2025 (BSS) - Emphasising the need to enhance the quality of primary education, Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar today said that failure in completing primary education will lead to the creation of an unskilled population.
 
"We must play our due role in improving the quality of primary education," he said, urging all concerned to raise education standards for the betterment of the nation.
 
The adviser made the remarks while exchanging views with field-level officers at the deputy commissioner's office here.
 
Dr Poddar instructed the officers to issue show-cause notices to schoolteachers and assistant education officers if the performance of their institutions is found to be unsatisfactory.
 
He said the replies to the show-cause notices must be submitted in writing, adding, "If the quality of education does not improve, take disciplinary action against them."
 
Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Kumar Sarkar presided over the meeting, while Superintendent of Police Md Akhtar Hossain was present as a special guest.
 
Additional Deputy Commissioner Samrat Khisa, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jamshed Alam Rana, Raipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Imran Khan, and heads of various departments were also present.
 
Following the meeting, the adviser inaugurated Kakoli Children's Park.
