Murshid for creating new job opportunities for women

DHAKA, May 5, 2025 (BSS) - Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid today called for making concerted efforts to create new job opportunities, plans and ideas for the womenfolk in all fields.

"In this era of technology, everyone should make concerted efforts to create new job opportunities, new plans and new ideas for our girls in all fields," she said.

The adviser made the call at a discussion organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) at the Bangladesh China Friendship Convention Center here as a special guest.

Labour and Employment Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hussain was present there as the chief guest. 

The government is sincere about providing equal opportunities to women in all fields so that they can achieve success in the workplaces, Murshid said, adding that the womenfolk are currently ahead of men in all fields, including education.

Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment A H M Shafiquzzaman, Head of ILO Country Office Tuomo Poutiainen and Bangladesh Employers' Federation (BEF) Vice-President Tahmid Ahmed attended it, among others.
