Bodies of two minor boys recovered from pond in Ashulia

SAVAR, May 14, 2025 (BSS) - Police recovered the bodies of two boys from a pond near Palashbari Kamal Garments in Ashulia this morning.

The deceased were identified as Limon Hossain, 11, son of Ratan Miah of Aminpur Police Station in Pabna district and Manik Hossain, 8, son of Ziaul Hossain of Madarganj Police Station in Jamalpur district. Both were students of a madrasha.

The bodies were sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue in the capital for autopsy.

Family sources said the two boys, who used to live with their parents in a rented house in the Baipail area, went out to play on Wednesday afternoon and had been missing since then. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ashulia Police Station Sohrab Al Hossain said no signs of injury were found on their bodies. It is initially believed that the two children drowned in the pond, he said.
