DHAKA, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has extended its support to Mohammad Imran, injured during the 2024 July Uprising, by buying his family a new auto-rickshaw to recover from financial hardship.

At a function held yesterday at the Dewanganj Girls High School ground, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi handed over the keys of the auto-rickshaw to Imran and his father as the chief guest.

Imran, a resident of Matherganj upazila in Jamalpur district, sustained a bullet injury to the head during the anti-discrimination student movement last year in the Bypail area under Ashulia Thana.

Following the incident, his father, Md Billal, was forced to sell their only income-generating asset -- an auto-rickshaw -- to cover Imran's medical expenses.

Expressing his gratitude, Md Billal thanked the BNP-affiliated group Amra BNP Paribar for their timely support.

"After selling the auto-rickshaw, we faced severe financial difficulties. Now, with this new one, I can support my family again," he said emotionally.

The family's plight came to public attention after it was featured in national daily. Moved by the report, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal's Jamalpur district organizing secretary Rokibul Hassan Rokib and BNP leader Engineer Md Hanif took initiative. Their appeal led Amra BNP Paribar to arrange the donation.
