DHAKA, May 19, 2025 (BSS) - The government has transferred 17 Superintendents of Police (SPs), with 10 of them receiving the current charge of Additional Deputy Inspector General (Addl DIG), according to two gazette notifications issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The notifications, signed by Deputy Secretary Md Mahbubur Rahman, stated that the reshuffle was made in the public interest and takes effect immediately.

According to the notification, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police Headquarters Md Jannatul Hasan has been made Addl DIG (current charge), Police Headquarters; SP of Pakshi Railway Police District Md Shahab Uddin to Addl DIG (current charge), Rajshahi Range; AIG of Police Headquarters Atia Husna to Addl DIG (current charge), Police Headquarters; SP of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Shah Momtazul Islam to Addl DIG (current charge), Rangpur Range; DC of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) ASM Shamsur Rahman Bhuiyan to Addl DIG (current charge), Highway Police; SP of Special Branch (SB) Mohammad Monirul Islam to Addl DIG (current charge), PBI; SP of River Police Md Kafil Uddin to Addl DIG (current charge), Industrial Police; SP of PBI Sheikh Joynuddin to Addl DIG (current charge), Khulna Range; SP of Tourist Police Nur Rezwana Parveen to Addl DIG (current charge), PBI and SP of SB AKM Akhtaruzzaman to Addl DIG (current charge) SB.

In addition, a separate notification said Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) SM Nasiruddin has been transferred to DMP, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Industrial Police AKM Zahirul Islam to DMP as DC.
 
SP of Police Headquarters Dr Masura Begum to Police Headquarters as AIG; SP of APBn-13 Abdullah Al Mamun to DMP as DC; Additional DC of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Mahmuda Begum, promoted as SP supernumerary, to Industrial Police as SP; Additional SP of Police Headquarters Khaleda Begum, promoted as SP supernumerary, to APBn as SP and Additional DC of Rangpur Metropolitan Police SM Shafiqul Islam, promoted as SP supernumerary, as DC of GMP.
