50,317 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia

DHAKA, May 19, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 50,317 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have so far arrived in Saudi Arabia through 127 flights where eight pilgrims have passed away sadly.

This year the outbound Hajj flights for the hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia are scheduled to conclude on May 31.

Md. Lokman Hossain, Director of the Hajj Office under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, confirmed the data today.

As outlined in the latest Hajj bulletin, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has operated 64 flights, carrying 25,111 pilgrims. Saudi Airlines conducted 43 flights with 16,941 pilgrims, while Flynas Airlines transported 8,265 pilgrims on 20 flights.

Of those who have reached Saudi Arabia, 4,583 are traveling under government management, while 45,321 are under private management.

This year, a total of 5,062 pilgrims are registered under the government's Hajj program and 81,121 under private arrangements.

The first Hajj flight departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on April 29. Outbound flights are scheduled to continue until May 31.

This year's Hajj is expected to take place on June 5, depending on the sighting of the moon. Return flights for Bangladeshi pilgrims are set to commence on June 10 and conclude on July 10.
