Youth engagements will move Bangladesh forward: Asif

SAVAR, May 20, 2025 (BSS) – Youth and Sports Affairs Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain today said that Bangladesh will move forward with active participation of youths in various activities including policy issues.

“If we look at the world history, youths contributed a lot to landmark change of courses and destiny of every country while they specially played a significant role for every historic change in our country,” he told a youth rally here on the outskirts of the capital.

Bhuiyan, also in charge of the local government ministry, said that youths’ desired for a qualitative change in the country during the July uprising so Bangladesh could project itself as a dignified nation before the world community instead of regime change alone.

The adviser said the present government was working to fulfill the people’s desire and aspirations of the youth and “we hope that youths will play an important supporting role to implement of this aspiration”.

National Youth Development Institute organised the day-long Youth Rally 2025, an event re-launched in a new format with participation of 700 young men and women.

The government has taken various programmes and activities for the development of the youth community.

Director general of the institute Dr Moha Bashirul Alam chaired the rally, joined as well by secretary of the ministry Md Mahbub ul Alam, joint secretary Kazi Mushtaq Zahir and director general of the directorate of youth development Dr Gazi Md Saifuzzaman as special guests.

Jahangirnagar University's Associate Professor Amina Islam moderated the function, while Jahangirnagar University's Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Mahfuzur Rahman spoke.
