DHAKA, May 20, 2025 (BSS) – Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed today paid a courtesy call on his South African counterpart Justice Mandisa Muriel Lindelwa Maya in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
 
During the meeting, they exchanged greetings and shared various experiences of the judiciary in their respective countries, Supreme Court public relations officer Md Shafikul Islam told BSS here today.
 
The Chief Justice of Bangladesh informed the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa about the various steps of his roadmap for the overall development of the country's judiciary.
 
Justice Mandisa Muriel Lindelwa Maya highly appreciated the visionary leadership of Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed in reforming the judiciary of Bangladesh and the important role of the judiciary in protecting human rights. 

She also highlighted the experience of the South African Human Rights Commission in resolving various constitutional questions.
