Ziaur Rahman should not be considered a member of any single party: Farooki

CHITTAGONG, May 30, 2025 (BSS) - Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has said that Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman should not be considered as just a leader of a single party, hoping that BNP will not make the same mistake that Awami League did earlier.

He said, "We need to come out from the culture where only BNP people will talk about the event on Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and let people of different parties and views know about Ziaur Rahman's life and works."

The Cultural Affairs Adviser made these remarks at a memorial meeting organized at the Chittagong Theatre Institute on the occasion of the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman this evening. The Zia Memorial Museum, Chittagong organized the discussion meeting. 

Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain delivered the welcome speech.

Mustafa Sarwar Farooki said, "The tenure of our government is very limited, so it is not possible for us to bring much change. Therefore, we are trying to make changes in some areas in a limited scale."

Professor of Dhaka University Dr. Chowdhury Saima Ferdous, General Secretary of AB Party Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, Chittagong Divisional Director of Health Dr. Aung Sui Pru Marma, CEO of BD Jobs.com AKM Fahim Mashrur, politician Sarwar Tushar, poet and thinker Rezaul Karim Rony, among others, participated in the discussion.
