Light to moderate rain likely over parts of country

DHAKA, May 31, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today 
forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes 
and temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at different parts of the 
country for the next 24 hours beginning this morning.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary 
gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, 
Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, 
Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at 
places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, the 
forecast added.

Day and night temperatures may rise by 1-3 degree Celsius over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Friday was recorded at 33.5 degree Celsius 
at Koyra upazila in Khulna division while today's minimum temperature 23.2 
degree Celsius was recorded at Bandarban district in Chattogram division. 

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded at 141 
millimeters (mm) at Bandarban district.

The sun sets at 6.42pm today and rises at 5.11am tomorrow in the capital.
