Gas supply to RMG factories to increase from today: Fouzul

SAVAR, May 31, 2025 (BSS) - Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan has said that gas supply to ready-made garment (RMG) factories will increase from today.

"Four new LNG cargoes have arrived," the adviser said, adding that gas distribution has already begun. "From today, there will be no gas shortage," he assured.

Fouzul, also the adviser to the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, made the statement while speaking to newsmen after inspecting a power plant in the newly developed zone of the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) in Ashulia, Savar this morning.

Before the inspection, Khan also visited the office of the Palli Bidyut Samity Dhaka-1 in Ashulia. 

Senior officials from the Bangladesh Army and Palli Bidyut Samity were present during the visit.
