Bad weather disrupts several Dhaka-bound flight movements

DHAKA, May 31, 2025 (BSS) – Adverse weather conditions in the capital today forced authorities to divert one international and three domestic flights bound for Dhaka to Shah Amanat International Airport in southeastern Chattogram, aviation authorities said.

Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) officials said they diverted the international Air Arabia Flight 514, an Airbus A321 aircraft carrying passengers and cargo Sharjah, to the southeastern port city changing its scheduled landing in Dhaka

“The aircraft landed safely in Chattogram at 4:33 pm,” a civil aviation authority official said.

 He said, of the domestic ones, Air Astra Flight 446, operating on Cox’s Bazar–Dhaka route, was diverted and landed in Chattogram at 4:32 PM.

   Two other diverted flights belonged to US-Bangla Airlines and they were Flight BS164 and Flight BS188, both being ATR crafts, which took off from Rajshahi and Saidpur airports and destined to HSIA in the capital.

 The two aircrafts landed at Shah Amanat Airport at 4:47 PM and 5:15 pm, the officials said.
