Communication system in southern region developed notably: Shipping Adviser

BHOLA, May 31, 2025 (BSS) - Adviser to the Ministry of Shipping and Labor and 
Employment Brigadier General (Retd.)Dr M Shakhawat Hossain today said the 
communication system in the southern region has improved since this 
government came to power.

"There are actually a lot of ferry crisis in the country. Some ferries are 
old. Some ferries are still running in Aricha Daulatia. Despite that, there 
are notable advancement in the transport communication system in the southern 
region during the rule of current interim government.

He was answering questions from journalists at the Elisha Ferry Ghat during 
his visit to Bhola at 2 pm today regarding the introduction of government 
ferries.

"Government ferries have been provided in many places. In different places 
where it is difficult for passengers to disembark. We have provided them in 
Maheshkhali, Sandip. Now they want ferry in Kutubdia," he said.


 "Some ferries will arrive by the end of this year, and then we will be able 
to provide them at various route levels," he assured.
